Did you recently graduate? Are you getting ready to? Chances are you are looking for new, exciting opportunities to accommodate your degree. Perhaps you should attend the Michigan Collegiate Job Fair.

The Michigan Collegiate Job Fair is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 23, at Burton Manor, located down the street from Madonna at 34700 Bristol St.

Students and graduates are welcome to pre-register before March 16 for $10, or pay $20 at the door.

Individuals interested should contact Ingrid Kroeger, Madonna's Assistant Direct of Career Services at She will help critique your resume to have it employer-ready before the fair, or give you tips if you are starting from scratch.

Job fairs are a great place to meet your potential employer. Attendees should dress to impress, and have a resume readily available. First impressions are lasting ones.

"I've never gone to a job fair before. I guess the idea of one almost seems too convenient. I am very interested in putting my major to use and showing off my expertise, and this fair sounds like a great base," said senior Blair Slack, a Communication major.

The fair will have a wide array of area employers including but not limited to: Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, Clear Rate Communications, Disney Worldwide Services, MetLife, and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Kroeger has a full list of employers, many of which are open to degree holders of any kind.

"I would be interested," said Sarah Kosel, a junior majoring in Sign Language for Interpreting in English. "But most of the postings I see around campus are major specific. If this fair gives me the opportunity to explore careers that spark my interest I would be glad to go."
