MU hosts P.E.T.S. donation drive

Madonna University’s Graduate School, the Center for Humane Studies, and Animal Awareness Student Group urge students to reach out and help animals in need. The donation drive is set for April 3-April 13.

New core creates more room for minors, certificates

Madonna University has reduced the number of courses required for general education. The new core curriculum requires 43 credit hours instead of 52 to 53 under the old requirements. Current students will need to meet with the advisors to determine if switching to the new core is beneficial for their situations. Students still need 120 credits to graduate under the old or new requirements. 

Student Senate elections in early April

The Madonna Student Senate hosted the Homecoming Dance and the Crusader Cup and now seeks new students seeking to run for office in 2017-18.
President Thomas Martin says the organization will continue to be an advocate for student concerns.

Baseball assistant returns to Madonna as manager

New baseball coach Ted Faulkner once served as an assistant coach at Madonna. Now he returns to lead the Crusaders this spring. 
“I really enjoy this university and what they stand for,” said Faulkner. “It’s a great baseball program and it has been known nationally to be successful. To be a part of it as an assistant and now, I’m honored to be the head coach, to keep that tradition going, just with some different styles.”  
​The team opens play in February with games down south. 


Bowlers begin 1st season

​The eight members of Madonna's new bowling team have started the season. The team has started off slowly but looks to improve in the weeks ahead. 

Golf squads wrap up fall season, prepare for spring

Madonna men's golf team earned a No. 25 rank for the fall season, the first time the squad has been ranked since 2013. 
The team earned four, first-place team titles and a couple hole-in-ones.
Members of the women's team earned All-Conference honors in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Sharing your voice through civic action is the most crucial thing one can do.
​Protesting is an American right protected under the First Amendment and one of the easiest ways to get involved. I think those who fail to see the benefits of protesting do not do so out of laziness but fear. For me, the idea of protesting seemed so alien until I found myself there in Hamtramck being an active participant.
