Friends and family of Madonna are invited to participate in the Crusader 5K and Madonna Mile. The event takes place on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 15.

Participants have the option to participate in the run or walk. The 5K run kicks off at 9:15, and the walk begins shortly after at 9:25. Anyone wishing to go a shorter distance can participate in the 1-mile run/walk at 9:35.

The course begins at Madonna University’s Activities Center, routes around the properties of the Felician Sister’s Central Convent, Ladywood High School, and lands participants back at the Activities Center. The course is 100 percent paved and maps will be offered.

Timers will be available for the 5K. Participants will be broken into age and gender, and the top three runners/walkers will receiver finisher ribbons.

Registration is available through the morning of the event.

“Proceeds from the race will benefit the Student Emergency Relief Fund, which provides assistance to students when the unexpected occurs, such as if a student suffers a house fire and is in need of food, clothing or books,” said Haley Mulka, an Admissions Officer and Club Advisor who is help taking charge of the event.

Packet pick-up for pre-registered runners/walkers is noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept 14 outside the Activities Center. Everyone else is welcome to pick up the packet the day of the event.

For those feeling lucky, the Crusader 5K and Madonna Mile will also host a 50/50 raffle at the run/walk.

Keep your pets and rollerblades at home, and register today by following the “Crusader 5K and Madonna Mile” link on the madonna.edu homepage. Those who are unable to attend but wish to donate to the relief fund can do so through the registration link.
